Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica is a Fantasy/Adventure/Music series that has had 3 episodes fan subbed so far. It began airing last spring season.
Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica is a series about Tartara Phoron and Corticarte Apa Lagranges (Corti). In the world of Polyphonica spirits are able to materialize into solid form and live off of the music played by humans. Among the humans are Dantists who can play a special type of music and who often make contracts with the spirits. Phoron is a Dantist and he has a contract with Corti. They both work in Tsuge Divine Music Player Office doing various jobs involving spirits and other things.
Polyphonica is a hard series for me to peg at the moment Ė on the one hand I do find it interesting but on the other hand something pulls me back from it. The spirit Phoron has a contract with, Corti, has the ability to change form when hearing Phoronís music going from a young version of her self to an adult version. I find her young version a little too young for my liking Ė why couldnít she go around in adult form all the time? The style of Polyphonica is quite odd Ė itís a mix of futuristic and the early 1900s. The instruments the Dantists use to play their music are also pretty funky looking. The OP song Apocrypha by euforius is not a bad song in itís own right it just pales in comparison to the beautiful ED song that is Concordia by Kukui. The ending also has some really nice CG style artwork that completes one of the best endings Iíve seen in a while. Polyphonica remains hard to pick at the moment, maybe itís the style thatís making me reserved but I find Iím interested in watching more anyway.
